Library Advocacy

Here’s an interesting article I found on library prisons. The article, “Books Behind Bars: A Volunteer-run Prison Library Service in Winnipeg, Manitoba”, examines issues surrounding information and library services for incarcerated inmates. I found the blog to be very informative and insightful on the grassroots prison library project taking place in Manitoba. The volunteer based program provides library books and programming to inmates at various correctional facilities in Winnipeg . A great read for anyone interested in advocacy and the role of librarians.
